Artist of the week: Saint Lou Lou

Last night, we at NOCTIS enjoyed the beautiful music and the beautiful faces of Saint Lou Lou.

The Swedish/Australian twins have been making their rounds across the internet with their single, "Maybe You" , which came out earlier this year.
They have a knack for translating dream pop into a spectrum of recent electronic trends, complete with deep bass and enduring vocals.
Everything about these 21-year old beauties oozes style; their whimsical indie-pop sound and striking looks make it seem logical that they might be a homage to Yves Saint Laurent and Loulou de la Falaise - but, despite the Kilbey sisters’ apparent seventies leanings, some things are too good to be true. “It’s just a coincidence,” says Elektra, who is younger by four minutes, when asked if the band’s moniker takes its cues from the French designer and his muse. “It’s actually inspired by our great aunt Lou Lou, who was awesome in her own way.”
“We work pretty hard on looking different,” says Elektra, “At one point we looked so alike it was frustrating, so we dyed our hair different colors and enhanced the very small variations between us.
“I’m a bit scrawnier,” explains the brunette Miranda about their main dissimilarity. “Elektra is a bit more curvy.” “But with our hair pulled back and no makeup we look exactly the same,” continues Elektra.

Try as you might, you will not find a colour photo of the pair anywhere; believe me we've tried. But suffice to say, this isn't out of some obsession with the 1970s, the pair have a definitive desire to come across as un-twinlike as possible.
But this aside, they have a remarkable talent for turning heads and you can expect to see more from them very soon.

KEEP UP WITH SAINT LOU LOU HERE
