The Tricks are a rock/power-pop quartet "all the way from the bright lights of Hollowaywood via Hackney Hills" and they will release their debut 7” vinyl EP ’49 Mercury’ on 5th November through Unison Music group.
Along with new track ’49 Mercury’, which is released digitally on 7th October, the EP will feature three exclusive download-only singles titled ‘Part Time Lover’, ‘On Trial’' and ‘Not Too Young’; these tracks have been released once a month for the past three months to coincide with the bands popular club night ‘Bop! Club’ - this is a monthly occurance.
The band's debut release is a collection of upbeat, catchy guitar pop tracks that boast reference to the bands influences from The Strokes to Bruce Springsteen, and often the sound of The Clash is said to be heard. It is a perfect introduction to The Tricks.
The brand new video for ’49 Mercury’ will be released in a matter of days, the 27th of this month to be exact but in the meantime you can whet your appetite and keep an eye on The Tricks by visiting their Tumblr. In particular you should keep your eyes peeled as they unveil exclusive GIFS throughout the week from the video.
